Google Pixel 6 Will Use Same ARM GPU Running On Galaxy S21

Compared to the Pixel 5, the Pixel 6 gets not only a worthy design upgrade, but also a significant technical feature, as you can see from the previously leaked renders. According to a report, it will have the same ARM GPU running on the upcoming flagship Galaxy S21.

Someone using the Twitter username akes29 shared some important information regarding the Whitechapel GPU that will be found on the upcoming Pixel 6. Not sure if it will be 14-core or 24-core, although it is sure it will be the same as the Mali-G78 running on the Galaxy S21. To remind you, every Galaxy S21 model that uses an Exynos 2100 has a 14-core ARM Mali-G78 GPU, so Google can also stick to this configuration.

To be honest, it's not surprising to see a Mali-G78 tip over. Ultimately, Google's Whitechapel for both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro is expected to be made with Samsung's 5nm technology. Does that mean the custom silicon will be as fast as Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100? No, not at all. According to previously published information, Google does not prioritize performance, but optimizes AI usage, machine learning, and improves the Image Signal Processor for the camera.

Whitechapel's performance may be between Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 865, but with a bit of software optimization, both the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro can feel smooth. Without using a highly customized UI, the software animations and general navigation should already feel fluid, but let's see other improvements Google brings to the table.
